
Meet the Spartans: Anthony Tutolo

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State wrestling will feature a newcomer weekly throughout the preseason in order to "Meet the Spartans" leading up to the 2018-19 season. This week, graduate student Anthony Tutolo (Mentor, Ohio / Lake Catholic High School) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.
1. Why did you choose to wrestle at Michigan State?
Â
I chose to wrestle at Michigan State for the culture and atmosphere that the team had. It was a very positive environment and had all the tools available to me to be able to have success in my career.

2. What are you most excited about as you begin your Spartan wrestling career?
Â
I am most excited to leave it all on the line for my last year with a team and coaches that believe in me and to meet a new team to be able to call a family and make memories with.

3. When did you first start wrestling?
Â
I started wrestling when I was 4 years old.
Â
4. Favorite wrestling memory?
Â
My favorite wrestling memory was wrestling in front of my home crowd for the National Tournament in Cleveland, Ohio because I had a lot of my family and friends there to support me.

5. What's your major at Michigan State and why?
Â
I am in the master's program for Advertising and Public Relations because I am pursuing a career in Advertising.

6. Who has taught you the most about wrestling growing up?
Â
The person who has taught me the most about wrestling is Adam Koballa. He helped me get through tough times in my life, while helping me excel in my wrestling career. He is a great mentor to have and is very knowledgeable when it comes to wrestling.Â

7. What superhero power would you have if you could choose one?
Â
The superhero power I would choose would be time travel.
Â
8. Favorite meal?
Â
My favorite meal is chicken paprikash.

9. Favorite TV show?
Â
My favorite TV show is Game of Thrones.

10. Favorite thing to do besides wrestling?
I enjoy playing video games when I am not wrestling and traveling to see new places.
Prior to MSU: Graduate transfer from Kent State University ... Compiled a record of 77-45 for the Golden Flashes ... Earned third and sixth place finishes at the MAC Tournament ... Two-time NCAA Tournament qualifier ... Won two state titles at Lake Catholic High School ... Named Cleveland.com Wrestler of the Year after his senior season ...
