Meet the Spartans: Nick Cooper

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State wrestling will feature a newcomer weekly throughout the preseason in order to "Meet the Spartans" leading up to the 2018-19 season. This week, redshirt freshman Nick Cooper (Albion, Michigan / Springport High School) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.
1. Why did you choose to wrestle at Michigan State?
I choose to wrestle at Michigan State because it is an excellent school full of opportunities to better myself.

2. What are you most excited about as you begin your Spartan wrestling career?
I am most excited to see what accomplishments I can earn as an individual and what accomplishments we can achieve as a team.

3. When did you first start wrestling?
I began wrestling in the first grade.

4. Favorite wrestling memory?
My favorite wrestling memory would have to be wrestling in the team state semifinals.

5. What's your major at Michigan State and why?
I am a Criminal Justice major. I chose Criminal Justice because I think I will be able to help people better their lives.

6. Who has taught you the most about wrestling growing up?
My mother and father have taught me the most about wrestling by driving me across the state multiple days a week to surround me with the best wrestlers possible.

7. What superhero power would you have if you could choose one?
Super Speed

French toast

10. Favorite thing to do besides wrestling?
Relax, watch Netflix, play video games, and fish.
