
Meet the Spartans: Nathan Jimenez

EAST LANSING, Mich. -Â Michigan State wrestling will feature a freshman periodically throughout the preseason in order to "Meet the Spartans" leading up to the 2018-19Â season.
This week, freshman Nathan Jimenez (Elburn, Ill / Marmion Academy) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.
1. Why did you choose to wrestle at Michigan State?
I come from a wrestling family with both of my older brothers wrestling in the Big Ten and I was looking for a family atmosphere, I found that at MSU with my teammates and especially with my coaches. Coach Chandler and the coaching staff made me feel at home right away.
2. What are you most excited about as you begin your Spartan wrestling career?
I'm excited to create a brotherhood with my teammates and to grow in the sport of wrestling
3. When did you first start wrestling?
Five years old
4. Favorite wrestling memory?
Becoming an All-American at the 2017 Fargo Freestyle
5. What's your major at Michigan State and why?
Food Industry Management, it's been something I've wanted to pursue since I was young
6. Who has taught you the most about wrestling growing up?
My father and my two older brothers
7. What superhero power would you have if you could choose one?
I wouldn't be a super hero, I'd be a Sith Lord from Star Wars
8. Favorite meal?
Chipotle burrito, extra sour cream
9. Favorite TV show?
Breaking Bad
10. Favorite thing to do besides wrestling?
Hang out with friends, eat, and spending time with family

Prior to MSU:Â Coached by Dan Reynolds at Marmion Academy ... Ranked No. 18 by InterMat ... collected a 109-23 record in three seasons ... three-time All-Conference selection ... two-time All-District and All-State selection ... earned Impact Award in 2016 ... named team MVP in 2017 ... 2017 Fargo Freestyle All-American as a member of Team Illinois ... led Marmion to the Elite Eight twice and the State runner-up once.
