Meet the Spartans: Jordan Hamdan

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State wrestling will feature a newcomer weekly throughout the preseason in order to "Meet the Spartans" leading up to the 2019-20 season. This week, freshman Jordan Hamdan (Hudson, Mich./Hudson High) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.
1. Why did you choose to wrestle at Michigan State?
I chose Michigan State because I wanted to be close to home.
2. What are you most excited about as you begin your Spartan wrestling career?
I am most excited about seeing improvement within myself and the team.
3. When did you first start wrestling?
I started wrestling when I was four years old.
4. What is your favorite wrestling memory?
My favorite wrestling memory was winning team states.
5. What are you majoring in at Michigan State and why?
I am majoring in kinesiology at Michigan State.
6. Who has taught you the most about wrestling growing up?
My father has taught me the most about wrestling growing up.
7. If you were a superhero, what would be your power and what would be your name?
My power would be teleportation so I can go anywhere warm during the winter. My name would still be Jordan.
8. What is your favorite meal?
My favorite meal is Chicken Alfredo.
9. Favorite TV show?
My favorite TV show is The Office.
10. Favorite thing to do besides wrestling?
I enjoy playing basketball.
PREP: Attending Hudson High School in Hudson, Mich...Became first four-time individual state champion in school history...Named 2019 Mr. Wrestler in Michigan...Elected team captain his sophomore through senior year...Led Hudson to three team state championships...Went 207-8 in high school with 101 pins...Was a USAW Cadet Greco-Roman National Champion in 2016, and took home a 3rd place finish in 2018... Added a fifth place Super 32 medal in 2018, and an All-American finish at Flonationals..
