Get to know new Spartan freshman wrestler Marty Larkin
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State wrestling will feature a newcomer periodically throughout the preseason in order to "Meet the Spartans" leading up to the 2020-21 season.
This week freshman Marty Larkin (Orland Park, Illinois / St. Rita High School) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.
1. Why did you choose to wrestle at Michigan State?
I chose Michigan State because of coaching staff, wrestling program, and the academics.
2. What are you most excited about as you begin your Spartan wrestling career?
I'm excited to wrestle with some of the best wrestlers in the country.
3. When did you first start wrestling?
I started wrestling when I was 4
4. Favorite wrestling memory?
Winning state when I was 9
5. What's your major at Michigan State and why?
My major is kinesiology. I chose this because of my interest in physical therapy and athletic training.
6. Who has taught you the most about wrestling growing up?
My coaches
7. What superhero power would you have if you could choose one?
Super speed
8. Favorite meal?
Portillo's Italian beef sandwich
9. Favorite TV show?
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
10. Favorite thing to do besides wrestling?
Watch sports
