EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State returns to Ralph Young Field on Sunday, Oct. 23 to host Miami at noon. The game will serve as the team's senior day and is the penultimate home game of the regular season for the Spartans. Â
LAST TIME OUTÂ
Michigan State enters Sunday's matchup on a two-game winning streak, most recently topping Indiana, 1-0, in overtime on Oct. 16, before knocking off Central Michigan, 3-2, in a nonconference game on Oct. 19. The Spartans' win against Indiana marked the first conference win of the season for the Green & White. Senior defender Celina Riccardo scored goals in both games, while senior midfielders Merel Hanssen and Isa van der Weij each added a goal against Central Michigan. Graduate goalkeeper Monique Jardell has played every minute in goal for the Spartans this season, recording a 0.726 save percentage.Â
SENIOR SALUTEÂ
Sunday's game will serve as the Spartans' senior day, where a pregame recognition will be held to honor seniors Devin Reilly and Valerie Radvany and fifth-year seniors Isa van der Weij, Monique Jardell, Jade Arundell and Georgia Davies. Combined, the Spartan senior class has earned three all-conference selections, four Big Ten Distinguished scholar awards, and 14 NFHCA National Academic honors.Â
SCOUTING MIAMIÂ
The Redhawks are led by 12th-year head coach Iñako Puzo, posting a 9-6 record with a perfect 5-0 record in MAC play. Miami most recently defeated Central Michigan, 6-0, on Friday, Oct. 21. The Redhawks are led by Claudia Negrete Garcia in points (25 p, 11 g, 3 a), Paula Peña Martinez and Garcia in goals (11) and Macy McHale in assists (12). Michigan State and Miami have played six of the same opponents this season – Michigan, Ohio State, Ohio, Bellarmine, Indiana and Central Michigan. The Redhawks are the defending MAC champions, reaching the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2021. The Spartans lead the all-time series, 17-7-1, and won the last meeting between the two teams on Oct. 10, 2021, 4-3.

The Spartans wrap up the regular season next week, traveling to Iowa on Friday, Oct. 28 for a 5 p.m. game. MSU then returns to Ralph Young Field to host Kent State for Title IX Day on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. Both games will stream on B1G+.Â
