Sophomore Ashley Miller was the pitcher of record for the Spartans, allowing three earned runs on four hits in three innings of work in the circle. Miller struck out five, increasing her season total to 172 and moving herself into eighth in program history for single-season strikeouts. Junior Sarah Ladd came on in relief of Miller, allowing two earned runs on three hits, while striking out two in three innings pitched.
Wolverine pitcher Alex Storako got the win for Michigan, allowing three hits and one earned run in a complete game effort.
Senior Jessica Mabrey, senior Kendall Kates, and sophomore Zaquai Dumas had the hits for the Spartans, with Mabrey and senior Courtney Callahan each drawing walks.
Michigan took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, using a two-out rally to put a pair of runs on the board.
Spartan sophomore Zaquai Dumas cut that lead in half in the top of the second as she hit her sixth home run of the season over the left field fence. Dumas has now homered for the Spartans in every Big Ten series this season, with home runs against Northwestern, Ohio State, and Michigan.

The Wolverines extended their lead to 4-1 in the third inning on a trio of singles before a two-run home run in the fifth inning extended that lead to 6-1.
Michigan State had a pair of impressive defensive plays in the game, with fifth year Caitie Ladd saving a base hit in the first inning and Callahan making a diving play in foul territory in right to conclude the fifth frame.
