Track & Field Hosts Auto-Owners Insurance Spartan Invitational Friday

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State track & field hosts its annual Auto-Owners Insurance Spartan Invitational on Friday, March 30 at Ralph Young Field. Field events will begin at 10 a.m., while running events will start at 10:30 a.m.
Due to weather, the meet has been condensed into a one-day format with events taking place in three locations - Ralph Young Field, Munn Field and Jenison Field House. The pole vault and long jump events will be held inside at Jenison Field House, while all throws except the shot put will take place at Munn Field. Shot put and Friday's running events will be held at Ralph Young Field.
Fans are encouraged to park in Lots 79 (Spartan Stadium), 62 (IM West) and 63 (Southwest Breslin).
The meet will begin at 10 a.m. with the women's hammer, men's shot put, women's long jump and women's pole vault, and at 10:30 a.m. on the track with the men's 3000m steeplechase. The  The meet will conclude with the 4x400m relays at 5:15 p.m. Senior Day ceremonies will take place at 1:20 p.m. at Ralph Young Field.
The Spartans kicked off the outdoor season at the Raleigh Relays and Clyde Hart Classic last weekend. MSU's distance squad recorded four top-10 finishes in Raleigh, while the Spartan sprints, jumps and throws contingents picked up eight podium finishes. All Spartan event groups will be in action on Friday, with all five of the team's current All-Americans - Katie Osika, John Petruno, Trevor Stephenson, Heath Baldwin and Ryan Talbot - set to compete.
At last year's edition of the meet, the first since 2019, the Spartans took home 11 event titles.Â
Up next, MSU travels to Durham, North Carolina for the Duke Invitational on Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8.
