
MSU Track & Field Ends the Regular Season at the Len Paddock Open

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State track & field will close out the regular season with a limited group competing at the Len Paddock Open in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Friday, May 9.
The Spartans will send primarily a group of throwers for the final week of the regular season. Events on the track will begin at 11 a.m. with the women's hammer throw. The Michigan State men will get started with the men's pole vault at 11 a.m. Events on the track will start at 1 p.m. with the men's 4x100 relay and end at 4:05 p.m. with the women's 4x400m relay.Â
MSU will mostly have field athletes in action in Ann Arbor.
The Spartan women's hammer squad is currently ranked No. 14 in the current USTFCCCA rankings, which is also fourth in the Big Ten behind Illinois, Minnesota and Nebraska. Elle Adrian is the top performer in the hammer throw with a best throw of 59.45m last week at the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet. Val Pallett is second it a throw of 58.03m also at the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet.
The women's shot put squad is also 16th. The men's hammer squad is eighth in USTFCCCA rankings, which is fourth in the Big Ten. Joshua DeVries has the top throw for the Spartans this season in the men's hammer throw with a heave of 65.52m at the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet.
The Spartans will also have Sophia Mettes in action in the women's pole vault, as well as Adam Blue and Landon Cosby in the men's pole vault. Leila Barmore will be the only Spartan represented in the women's triple jump, which is set to begin at 1:30 p.m.
In track action, Logan Allen and Noah Heiber will be running the men's 110m hurdles. Alexys Wilson will be in action in the women's 400m.
The Big Ten Outdoor Championships will be in Eugene, Oregon for the first time May 16-18.
