Volleyball Hosts No. 14 Penn State Sunday

EAST LANSING, Mich. -Â Michigan State volleyball wraps its first weekend of Big Ten action with a 2 p.m. match inside the Breslin Center against No. 14 Penn State on Sunday, Sept. 27 on the Big Ten Network.
Zach Mackey (play-by-play) and Audrey Flaugh (analyst) will be on the call on the Big Ten Network, while fans can also tune into John Kreger's call of the action on MSUSpartans.com or via the Michigan State Athletics app for the match.
MSU is 10-1 (0-1 B1G) after falling to Washington in four sets in its conference opener on Sept. 25. The Spartans went 10-0 in non-conference action for the second-straight season, marking the fifth season in program history going undefeated in non-con play.
MSU is receiving votes in this week's AVCA Coaches Poll for the second-straight week and third time overall this season. Prior to being ranked in this season's preseason poll, MSU had not received votes in the national poll since the 2018 season.
The Spartans were led in total kills against the Huskies by senior outside hitter Alanna Bankston, who put up 14 for her seventh-straight and eighth overall match with double-digit kills this season. Bankston is averaging 3.77 kills per set this season to rank seventh in the conference. Freshman outside hitter Madi Andrews tied a career-high seven kills in just two sets of action, while senior middle blocker Zora Hardison had six kills and tied junior middle blocker Carmen Waye with a team-best three total blocks. Both Waye (.481) and Hardison (.418) sit inside the top 10 in the conference in hitting efficiency, ranking second and seventh, respectively.
Redshirt sophomore setter Malayah Long led MSU in assists with 26 against Washington and was one of four Spartans to record a service ace. Senior defensive specialists Ky Clayton and Taylah Holdem led in service aces with two apiece.
Senior libero Lia Schneider recorded a team-high 12 digs in MSU's match against Washington, her fifth match of the season with double-digit digs and third in MSU's last four matches.
