Eas the recipient of the team's Freshman of the Year award ... At the Big Ten Championships, swam in the prelims of the 200 IM (1:50.57), 100 fly (48.37), 100 breast (56.77), 10th 400 Medley Relay (3:15.65), and was a part of MSU’s 400 free relay (2:56.80) … Helped the 400 medley relay (3:25.07) and 200 free relay (1:23.08) to second-place finishes at Michigan (1/22), and individually took second in the 100 fly (49.96), and then was fifth in the 50 free … Had three podium finishes at Penn State, taking third in both the 100 fly (50.19) and 200 IM (2:09.85) as well as first in the 200 free relay (1:23.09) and third in the 400 medley relay (3:22.77) ...
Prior to MSU: Four-year varsity letterwinner at Salem High School ... Also swam for Plymouth Canton Cruisers in Canton.
Personal: Son of Alex and Carolina Freitag ... Has three siblings: Patricia, Nicole, and Christian ... Patricia is a 2020 MSU graduate and Christian is a junior ... Planned major is civil engineering.
